Miami was one of seven cities selected by Bicycling Magazine to participate in their Bike Town USA essay contest. This afternoon, selected winners met at the Tina Hills Pavilion in Bayfront Park to claim their prizes. About 25-30 winners each received a Jamis Commuter 1 bicycle, Lazer Helmet w/ Integrated Light System & OnGuard U-lock to protect their prize against thieves!
Congrats to all the lucky winners, I hope you enjoy your new bicycles!
Thanks to Jamis Bicycles, City Of Miami, MetLife & Elite Cycling & Fitness for making this possible.
Most of all, thanks to Bicycling Magazine for acknowledging Miami this year after listing the Magic City as one of the worst cities for cycling just last year. Within the past year the city has made changes towards becoming more bike friendly & Bicycling Magazine took notice. Hopefully someday the City Of Miami will be recognized for being one of the best cities for cycling, this obviously will require lots of hard work, education, funds and time.
Yo sorry I took off without saying later...it was hot as HELL and I had to get back to work!
