Close to 300 cyclists showed up to the Critical Mass ride this past Friday, quite unbelievable since we only had about 30 riders on last years Halloween ride. As expected lots of folks showed up in costumes, great ride & vibe throughout the night. Lots of pedestrians cheering us on from the sidewalks in Little Havana, that's typically the neighborhood we get the best response in. For a group so large, we actually got through the intersections quickly. We have a rather civilized group compared to CM in some other cities, definitely something to be proud of.. let's try to keep it that way.
The video is composed of only the first half of the ride (Little Havana, Mary Brickell Village & Downtown Miami). I often make these videos for fun & to document local cycling events, quite frankly though I did not enjoy editing this video & decided to stop midway. There's bonus footage after the ending titles of the group rolling back into Government Center. If anyone has video and/or photos you are encouraged to add them to the Miami Critical Mass Facebook group.
This month's ride falls the day after Thanksgiving. Friday, November 27th
Note: Critical Mass was in the front page of Sundays (11/1) Miami Herald, I foresee the group continuing to grow slightly though Nov/Dec typically has less atendees due to the holidays.
