After many years and countless bicycle accidents, the North Miami Avenue railroad tracks across from Miami Fire Station #2 have finally been repaired. While some would quickly assume the accidents were due to poor bike handling skills, experienced cyclists noted that loose gravel and potholes parallel to the tracks were usually the basis. I always found it twistedly humorous that those falling on the tracks had options laid out for them across the street (Fire Rescue Station or Miami Cemetery). Here's to incident free railroad crossings on N. Miami Ave, ride safe!
Check out this Streetfilms video below illustrating how to properly cross railroad tracks on your bike.
