"A FREE Bike Ride and Block Party open to residents and visitors, on Saturday morning, September 17, 2016. The 6 MILE ride will be led by NBA superstar Dwyane Wade through Coconut Grove, starting and finishing at the City of Miami’s new waterfront Regatta Park. The event will benefit Wade’s World Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization supporting local programs in South Florida.
The Bike Ride is expertly organized to ensure a safe, fun, rewarding experience. Families and friends are welcomed to come together in this fabulous bike “parade” on the streets and through the neighborhoods of Coconut Grove! Following the ride, participants will be treated to snacks, refreshments, a live performance by the Problem Kids and a chance to party with Dwyane Wade himself. This is one party you don't want to miss out on!
BICYCLE HELMETS are REQUIRED! You must wear one to ride! Don't forget to bring one! FREE children's helmets will be available to the first 150 registered youngsters who need a helmet.
Pre- Register here to ensure a fast check-in on the morning og the ride, and, to reserve your FREE D. Wade event t-shirt & snack wristband. The first 1,500 registrants will receive the t-shirt and wristbands.
Morning-of Registration will be from 6:00am-7:45am at Regatta Park. Please make sure to arrive early, to make your registration process that much more enjoyable! The ride will begin promptly at 8am, followed by the block party, which will be from 10am-12pm.
How to get to the ride start:
1. Bike to Regatta Park in Coconut Grove
2. Take your bike on Metrorail, exit at Coconut Grove Station, bike to event site
3. Park at one of surround the Parking Garages/Lots
Please note: Streets on the Bike Route will be closed to vehicular traffic (S. Bayshore, Grand Avenue, MacFarland, Mary Street and smaller streets in West Grove). There will be no meter-parking in this area.
