March is Florida Bike Month!

Miami-Dade residents are encouraged to start the month off by leaving their car keys at home and riding to work on Bike to Work Day - Friday, March 2, 2018. Participate in any of the Miami-Dade / Bike305 sponsored Bike to Work Day events below and enjoy perks and giveaways! There's an event in Miami, Coral Gables, and Palmetto bay.

FYI.. National Bike Month is in May, but Florida celebrates it in March due to favorable weather.

Grab your bike and helmet, and leave your car keys at home for Bike to Work Day on Friday, March 2. Join a 7.5 mile police-escorted bike ride from University Metrorail Station to downtown Miami. Discover how easy it is to commute to work.

Bike checks, giveaways and refreshments will be available at 6:45am. The opening ceremony starts at 8am. Soon after, the bike ride to downtown Miami begins.

"Try bike commuting for ONE day! Ride your bike and meet residents, along with Village Council at Village Hall for a guided bike ride to celebrate Bike305's Bike to Work Day.

Riders will depart Village Hall at 6:45am and head out to Dadeland South Metrorail Station. Upon arrival to Dadeland South Metrorail Station, you'll learn how to take your bike on Metrorail and then head to the next Metrorail Station - University Station.

Opening Ceremonies will take place there at 8am, along with all the Bike305 festivities. Following the ceremony, you may join the 7.5 mile police-escorted ride to downtown Miami with refreshments at Government Center. All participating cyclist will receive a FREE Bike305 performance cycling t-shirt, a FREE one- Metrorail pass, and other goodies (while supplies last). Light refreshments and breakfast foods will be served at the University Metrorail Station."
