"Adam was a dedicated RiSKi dude, participating in every charity ride, and supporting his friends, bicycle and otherwise, with love. We miss Adam and dedicate our 6th Annual Community Care Ride to benefit Poverello Center to his memory. It's on September 29th, his 39th birthday. Adam knew, like your other bicycle weirdo friends at the RiSKi Action Club, that, in harsh and confusing times, it is always the right idea to do charity to benefit your community. If you have never done a RiSKi charity bicycle scavenger hunt, do this one. It will be fun and good for you.
For over 30 years, the Poverello Center in Wilton Manors has provided life-saving food and basic life essentials, with the highest degree of understanding, respect and love to more than 2500 youth, women and men living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, at or below the poverty level. We will be buying $20 of personal hygiene products to donate to Poverello Center for delivery to their clients. Like all RiSKi AC charity bike events, this is 100% DIRECT ACTION AND NON-PROFIT. Your purchased goods will be given directly to Poverello Center at the conclusion of the event, and there is no registration fee.
The Manifest will require stops at 4 stores, and the estimated distance will be 10-12 miles.
Pre-ride get-together begins at 4:00 pm, at our Host, The Little Seamstress, 311 NE 44th Street (Prospect Road), Oakland Park, FL 33334. The Bicycle Scavenger Hunt starts at 5:00 pm. After-Party, featuring Drunk Dogs by Thaddeus Inchoate, starts at 7:00 pm. The joy of doing direct action charity, on your bike with your friends, starts when you show up. Racing is not required, and riders are invited to participate at any speed and any level. Prizes awarded for most charitable riders.
Ride your bike—have fun—do good!"
