March is Florida Bike Month!

Miami-Dade residents are encouraged to start the month off by leaving their car keys at home and riding to work on Bike to Work Day - Friday, March 1, 2019. Participate in any of the Miami-Dade / Bike305 sponsored Bike to Work Day events below and enjoy perks and giveaways! There's an event in Miami, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, and Palmetto Bay.

FYI.. National Bike Month is in May, but Florida celebrates it in March due to favorable weather.

"You are invited to participate in the 7th annual Bike305 Bike to Work Day on Friday, March 1st at University Metrorail Station! Official ceremonies will begin at 8am. with a welcome address by Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez.

This event aims to encourage cycling in your community and now it's time, once again, to demonstrate to our residents how simple and rewarding it is to leave the car behind and ride a bicycle to work.

A brief ceremony will be followed by a 7-mile bike ride on the Underline to Government Center in downtown Miami. You may choose to ride all the way or take the Metrorail to your final destination."

Stop by early at the northeast corner of Miracle Mile and Ponce de Leon Boulevard (in front of Crema Gourmet Espresso Bar Miracle Mile) to enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and a chance to participate in giveaways.

Bike to Work Day is hosted by the City of Coral Gables - Government in partnership with Bike Walk Coral Gables, Downtown Coral Gables & Miracle Mile, and Bike305.

Join Bike Coconut Grove for a free breakfast on Bike to Work day, Friday, March 1, in the beautiful courtyard of Florentine Plaza (3444 Main Highway). For all in the Grove who bike to work, from 7:30-8:30 a.m. we'll be hosting a free breakfast sponsored by Arquitectonica. Please RSVP here so they can know how many to expect.

Participants will depart from the Village Hall Parking Lot at 6:45am to head out to Dadeland South Metrorail Station. Upon arrival to the station you will learn how to take your bike on the Metrorail and then head to the next Metrorail Station (TBD) where opening ceremonies will take place along with all of the Bike305 festivities.

All participating cyclists will receive a FREE Bike 305 performance Cycling T-Shirt, a FREE One-Way Easy Ticket on the Metrorail, and other goodies (while supplies last). Light refreshments and breakfast foods will be served.
