A bridge rehabilitation project is set to begin in March 2019 on the Rickenbacker Causeway.

The Parks Department also has a project underway to paint the dedicated bike lanes along the Rickenbacker Causeway green, from the Toll Plaza to the east end of Bear Cut Bridge. At this point it will match up to the existing Crandon Boulevard green bike lanes.

Once both projects are complete, the entire Rickenbacker Causeway from the toll plaza to the Village of Key Biscayne will have green bike lanes.

Project Details
• Replacement of navigation bridge
fender system and navigation lights.
• Replacement of expansion joints.
• Repair of bridge concrete elements.
• Pavement marking for green bike lane.

All efforts are being made to minimize the impact to the traveling public. The lane closure will occur only during the following hours on weekdays during non-event days:
• 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Weekdays (During Non-Event)
