Join Debris Free Oceans for a beach cleanup and bike tour of #PlasticFreeMB businesses
"May is National Bike Month, and according to its founding org - the League of American Bicyclists - the #BikeThere movement exists to create “safer streets, more connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people”!
So what better way to explore several sustainable #plasticfreeMB businesses than by taking to the streets on two wheels during our upcoming #PlasticFreeMB Bike Crawl event! We’ll start with a short ride from South Florida Trikke to South Pointe where we will do a beach cleanup, then hop back on our bikes and stop for snacks at a few of our #plasticfreeMB businesses!
First we will stop at Lilikoi Organic Living for avocado toast and lemonade- YUM. Lilikoi has replaced plastic straws, bags, and takeout containers with paper alternatives, and they use metal cutlery in-store.
Then we will stop at Under the Mango Tree for mini acai bowls- DELISH! Under the Mango Tree is 100% plastic-free, and has eliminated plastic straws, cutlery, bags, carryout containers, and coffee cups.
We will return our bikes to South Florida Trikke around 12 pm :)
Each $20 ticket includes the bike rental, delicious food & drink samples, and a Debris Free Oceans reusable cup. The City of Miami Beach will also be raffling off a few reusable utensils sets!
#PlasticFreeMB is a City of Miami Beach certification program that highlights and supports local businesses that have eliminated single-use plastics from their operations- there are currently more than 100 MEMBER BIZ'S! Amazing. Congratulations Miami Beach!
Head to PlasticFreeMB.com to learn more about the program, browse an interactive map of all member businesses, and sign up for the program!"
