The City of West Palm Beach is thrilled to announce a series of events in celebration of Florida Bicycle Month throughout March. These events aim to promote cycling as a healthy and eco-friendly mode of transportation while encouraging community engagement and bicycle safety awareness.
Kicking off the festivities on Monday, March 4, 2024, cyclists are invited to the West Palm Beach Tri-Rail Station located at 203 South Tamarind Avenue for Free Bike Tune-Ups. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Richwagen’s Bike & Sport will provide complimentary bike safety checks and minor adjustments to ensure that bicycles are in optimal condition. Attendees will also have the opportunity to receive free cycling swag.
On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the excitement continues with a Night Bicycle Ride starting at Salento Coffee Shop, situated at 407 Clematis Street. Join City of West Palm Beach Transportation Manager Jessica Keller at 5:30 p.m. for a scenic ride through downtown West Palm Beach, soaking up the City’s vibrant nightlife while celebrating Florida Bicycle Month – Palm Beach County. This event is proudly sponsored by DDEC and EXP.
The highlight of the celebration comes on Friday, March 8, 2024, with Bike to Work Day. Commuters are encouraged to join the City of West Palm Beach at City Hall Plaza, located at 401 Clematis Street, for an energizing start to the day. The festivities will commence at 7:30 a.m. and run until 9:00 a.m., featuring a safety fair and giveaways to promote cycling as a viable mode of transportation.
"We are excited to host these events in honor of Florida Bicycle Month," said Mayor Keith A. James. "Cycling not only promotes a healthy lifestyle but also reduces traffic congestion and carbon emissions, contributing to a more sustainable City."
All events are open to the public, and participants of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to join.
