The Underline’s Phase 2: Hammock Trail will be officially opening for Earth Month!

"The Underline’s Phase 2 stretches 2.14 miles from Coral Way to SW 19th Avenue, connecting Brickell to north Grove. You’ll now have nearly three miles of safe walking and biking trails, enhanced connectivity, public art, and thousands of native plants and trees to make our community more resilient."

How does The Underline’s Hammock Trail contribute to our county’s resiliency? 
  • An additional 100,000 native plants and trees will bring back butterflies, bees and birds!
  • A 36% increase in tree shade canopy. Did you know that shade from trees can reduce and mitigate heat by nearly 20 degrees Fahrenheit?
  • Trash and recycling receptacles to reduce litter.
  • Dark Sky compliant LED lighting to reduce light pollution.
  • Green infrastructure with native landscaping that functions as bioswales to address stormwater flooding and runoff.
