The Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) has scheduled a hybrid public meeting regarding the South Bayshore Drive from Darwin Street to Mercy Way construction project.
Registration is required if you wish to participate in the public meeting via the Zoom platform. To register, please visit miamidade.gov/virtual-meetings, click Department Meetings Calendar, find the meeting date and time, and select the meeting you wish to attend.
To request materials in accessible format, Sign Language Interpreters, CART services and/or any accommodation to participate in any DTPW public meeting, please contact Marque Dixon, DTPW's ADA Coordinator, at 786-469-5225 or by sending an email to dtpw-ada@miamidade.gov five days in advance of the public meeting to initiate your request. The meeting is scheduled to take place at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, located at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, 3747 Main Highway in Miami, on Monday, July 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This public meeting was previously scheduled for June 12. However, it was rescheduled for July 29 upon request by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Raquel A. Regalado to allow ample time for her to further discuss project details with community stakeholders. Your attendance at this meeting is encouraged and any comments will be appreciated.
For your convenience, we have available a brief project summary.
The meeting’s purpose is to provide area residents and businesses, as well as the cycling community, with information related to the project, and to present concept plans, and other pertinent information developed by DTPW.
Improvements consist of, but are not limited to, roadway reconstruction, new drainage, new pump station at David Kennedy Park, new lighting, new signing and pavement markings, new pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and new landscape.
Funding for this project will be provided from the Road Impact Fees of District 2, pursuant to Section 33E of the Code of Miami-Dade County.
