In an effort to improve access along the waterfront edge of the Marine Stadium basin, The City of Miami, through a DEP Recreational Trail Grant, restored the existing basin trail.

For those familiar with the U-shaped trail, it's 1.5 miles in length and goes around the basin. It used to be open to the public but was never really well known, and mostly utilized by students from MAST Academy.

The trail is composed of crushed granite with a reinforced structural grid made up of 100% recycled plastic grocery bags. It's open to pedestrians, cyclists, and pets. If you choose to bike the trail, a fat tire bicycle is recommended. At the very end of the 8,000 ft trail, you'll be rewarded with a nice view of the City of Miami.
